Millcreek’s fourth annual Winter Clothing Drive proved once again what’s possible when a community rallies around a shared goal. Thanks to the generosity of local residents, businesses, and volunteers, the drive successfully collected and distributed more than a thousand winter clothing items to individuals and families in need across the area.
Businesses throughout Millcreek played a key role by hosting collection boxes and helping spread the word to customers and neighbors. Their participation made donating easy and accessible, allowing the drive to reach people across the city and encouraging a strong community response. Residents contributed new and gently used winter clothing, ensuring a wide range of items for recipients of all ages.
Behind the scenes, Millcreek Promise volunteers dedicated countless hours to sorting and organizing donations. Items were carefully separated by size and aligned with the specific needs of partner organizations. At the same time, Promise staff coordinated closely with local nonprofits and service providers to ensure donations were distributed thoughtfully and equitably to both youth and adults.
The following day, volunteers delivered 1,016 winter clothing items to nine partner organizations: Granite Peaks Adult Education Center, Children’s Services Society, Promise South Salt Lake, First Step House, The Road Home, Mosaic Interfaith, The Children’s Center, Utah International Charter School, and Cottonwood High School. These organizations will help ensure the clothing reaches individuals and families who need it most during the coldest months of the year.
The annual Winter Clothing Drive continues to highlight the strength of Millcreek’s community spirit and its commitment to caring for neighbors. Organizers expressed deep gratitude to everyone who donated items, volunteered time, or offered space and support. Together, their efforts helped keep Millcreek residents warm this winter—and demonstrated the lasting impact of community collaboration.
